What is 1080p?

1080P LCD TV´s are capable of displaying Full HD picture quality, the 1080 refers to the number of horizontal lines displayed on the screen (1,080) and the P stands for progressive scan. At 1080PLCDTV.co.uk we only compare prices of LCD televisions that are capable of displaying 1080P or Full HD picture quality. You can use the menu above to browse by Brand, Retailer, Screen size, price bracket and you can also use our search facility to find the LCD TV you are looking for. Once you have found your TV you can compare prices to find the best deal from our vast range of trusted UK retailers.

Why is 1080p better than 1080i?

The i in 1080i stands for interlaced we already know the p in 1080p stands for progressive. Interlaced means your TV will render all the odd numbered lines followed by the even numbers 1/30 of a second apart. Progressive-Scan formats convey all of the lines sequentially in a single pass making for a crisper smoother image. This is all important when it comes to watching or playing fast action sports, films and games.
